The Chartered College of Teaching is pleased to announce the membership of the Advisory Group for the EdTech Evidence Board project, funded by the Department for Education and announced by the Secretary of State for Education in her keynote address at BETT 2025.

Ultimately, the EdTech Evidence Board will take an evidence-based approach to evaluating the effectiveness and impact of EdTech products, reviewing evidence submitted by EdTech suppliers using a defined set of criteria. The criteria will be informed by research evidence and developed in consultation with subject matter experts, suppliers, schools and colleges.

In the current phase of the project, we are working in collaboration with teachers, school and college leaders, EdTech providers and others within the education and EdTech sectors to inform our approach to the Evidence Board process and to develop the criteria that will be used to assess EdTech products.

The newly announced Advisory Group will play a key role in reviewing and advising on the criteria being developed and on the approach to the Evidence Board, including membership of the Evidence Board itself and approaches to the assessment of evidence. Building on the successful development of criteria in Spring, we plan to invite evidence submissions to a pilot phase of the Board later this year.

We believe that the EEB will have a positive impact on the sector by driving critical thinking among schools and EdTech providers about the impact and measurement of EdTech products, helping education settings feel confident that they are choosing products that work well for them and for their classrooms.

A list of Advisory Group members is included below. The group includes educators, researchers and edtech experts, with wider opportunities for stakeholders to be involved in consultation and project development through our open survey and our call for evidence.
